DOUZIE

With a violin in hand since the age of three, Alexandre Tétrault is renowned for his extensive repertoire of original and traditional music, including old-time and Métis styles found throughout Western Canada. An active member of the Francophone community and a citizen of the Red River Métis Nation, Alexandre has been getting Manitobans on their feet for over a decade and has been performing beyond the province since 2018.

Alexandre is also known by the name Douzie, a childhood nickname that has become his stage name for his electronic music projects. Douzie produces EDM, house, and instrumental hip-hop tracks, blending traditional and Indigenous elements into his creations. Recognized for incorporating the violin into his DJ performances, Douzie is increasingly sought after to deliver this unique experience. His musical fusions and journey are also showcased in an educational performance called the Ti-Bert et Douzie Show, which has been captivating school audiences across Canada.
