Label & Artist Manager, Publishing and neighboring rights manager at Simone Records, Gaby Gauthier-Durand works with around thirty artists who stand out both in the Quebec music scene and internationally. Initially trained as a classical musician, she began her career as a performer and teacher, eventually shifting her focus to the organizational aspects of the music industry. A graduate of UQAM, she initially held a position as a communications manager at in a multidisciplinary venue before moving on to artist management and booking at Spectra Musique. Later, she joined the team at Simone Records, primarily working in marketing and production, but also involved in rights management and music publishing.
In 2019, she participated in the Phoenix program, in partnership with Canadian Heritage, which aims to support cultural managers in strategic planning and business model development. More recently, she was part of the cohort of 5 managers at the Canadian Creative Accelerator in Los Angeles, an initiative focused on expanding the global reach of cultural productions. In 2023, Gaby became involved in the Keychange movement, an initiative by Creative Europe and the European Union that brings together 74 women and gender expansive from 12 countries, advocating for better representation and more equity within the music industry.
